The SandGlider is an ideal solution for Calcium Sulfate / Anhydrite / Gypsum based floor screeds.
Calcium Sulfate or Anhydrite screeds are becoming increasingly popular and offer far more benefits over a sand/cement based screeds however, fixer and installers need to be aware to remove the laitance on the surface prior to laying tiles or other finishes.
Laitance is a weak layer of fine particles deposited on the surface of the screed as the anhydrite cures. This layer is too weak to tile onto and therefore needs sanding or abrading.
By simply attaching a Silicon Carbide abrasive disc to the four heads of the machine the SandGlider offers an ideal solution for removing surface laitance.
Please note: The longer the screed has been down the more course disc will be required. Typically, a 60g Silicon Carbide disc is sufficient for most requirements.
